What is the Livepool Classics Hub ?

The Liverpool Classics Hub was set up in October 2016, with a grant from Classics for All, to work with local schools, the University of Liverpool and Classics for All to expand opportunities for pupils across the region to study Latin, Greek, ancient history, archaeology and classical civilization. 


The Hub is based at Liverpool College and offers a focal point for our activities.


What are our aims ?

The Liverpool Classics Hub aims to:


  • Increase the number of primary and secondary schools in the area offering Latin, Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilization, expanding the opportunities available to all children. 
  • Increase the number of teachers qualified to teach classics in state schools.
  • Provide additional training to existing teachers. 
  • Give ongoing support to  those already teaching classics.
